Molybdenum is a metallic element that is often used as an additive in alloy and stainless steel. The pure metal of molybdenum is silver white and very hard. At room temperature, molybdenum has not reaction with hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid and alkali solution. It dissolved only in nitric acid, aqua regia or concentrated sulfuric acid. It is also quite stable with the most liquid metal, non metal slag and molten glass. Therefore, molybdenum products have a wide range of applications and good prospects in metallurgy, agriculture, electrical, chemical, environmental protection, aerospace and other important sectors and become an important raw material and irreplaceable strategic material in the national economy.
The molybdenum has the characteristics of high purity, high temperature resistance, low vapor pressure and so on so that it is often used in the manufacture of high temperature furnace heating and structural materials. In the production process of tungsten, molybdenum and hard alloy, most of the use of molybdenum wire heating method reduces furnace and sintering furnace, part of the continuous sintering of iron products also used molybdenum rod heating row as heating unit.
