Tungsten rod molybdenum rod alloys can be used at higher temperatures than molybdenum or molybdenum alloys. In the production of high melting refractory ceramic fiber furnace, using tungsten and molybdenum alloy as electrode, head piece and the thimble parts, its service life is much longer than that of pure molybdenum products. Mo一30W has higher anti erosion performance to liquid zinc than pure molybdenum,, which is used in liquid zinc temperature tube, liquid zinc pump rotor and some corrosion resistant parts of zinc smelting furnace.

Due to high melting point, anti ablative performance and good solid particle flame erosion, tungsten rod molybdenum rod alloy can also be used for gas rudder and guard plate of solid rocket motor and other components.

The commonly used tungsten rod molybdenum rod alloy nominal composition: Mo一30W、Mo一50W and Mo一85W. Tungsten molybdenum alloys can be regarded as a transition alloy between molybdenum and tungsten alloy. Therefore, this alloy can be applied in the wide temperature range between molybdenum and tungsten.
